SA Convention Ensemble Programs

Description and Purpose: Gives students the opportunity to perform in multi-piano ensembles at the TMTA State Convention. Encourages collaborative playing in a team environment.
Eligibility and Participation requirements:
1. Student must pass the TMTA theory Test (70 or higher).
2. No more than one rehearsal may be missed; there must be a valid excuse.
3. First and second alternates (if any) should come to each rehearsal.
Registration Deadline: February meeting
Rehearsal Dates: TBA
Fees: $25 plus costume fee (TBA)
Enrollment:
1. Online registration and payment is available for this event.
2. There will be no refunds.
3. Before auditions, teachers need to give each parent a copy of the ensemble information as printed in the yearbook.
4. Submit estimated number of participants at the December meeting. For each ensemble, please enroll an equal number of primos and secondos from your studio.
Ensemble Repertoire: TBA
Auditions:
1. All music should be memorized at the audition.
2. Each student must have the music memorized and must be able to play the entire piece.
3. A judge will audition each student.
4. Each student will receive a written critique.
5. (Except for high school) Come to the audition with your child’s clothing size and measurement information for their costume.
Costumes: You will receive costume information at the audition. Every effort will be made to keep the costumes simple and inexpensive. The deadline for the money for the costumes is still TBA. Make checks to HMTA. The High School ensemble will perform in formal evening clothes, no costumes.
